See Specifics for directions From the waters of the Bay to Mt Diablo and the Delta, Close to Home explores local wildlife. Each month we focus on a different species and learn how each has a niche to fill, a role to play in the general ecology, and life lessons to offer all the others in the Earth Community. Monthly outings are led by naturalists who know and love the animal habitats we visit. On the Monday evening before each outing, a local expert will discuss how the animal lives, what its challenges are, and how we can respect their habitat. We'll also learn about the changes to living systems that have occurred over time and how this impacts the species we're studying. These talks are open to the public.
